My custom firmware psp broke can i send it to sony for repair?The psp was dropped into orange juice by my brother and now it aint working it has custom firmware. Can i still send it in to sony for repairs even for a fee?

depends, does it have warrenty, if it does not then you might have to look at paying 100$ to fix all depends on how its broke

If you have warranty form, you can bring to Sony Customer Center, no pay money.Else you will pay fee.

Phone Sony and tell them that your PSP has broken, it wont turn on, it wont charge and you have tried other batteries and they will replace it on the spot.

Can the Sony Psp 3000 run Custom Firmware?Can the PSP 3000 run custom firmware to allow emulation of GB, NES and Sega games and such? If so, what steps are needed to do so? Thank you.
I currently have the original psp running custom firmware, but was thinking about upgrading to 2000 or 3000(which doesn’t look promising). Would the 2000 be the way to go, since it is faster than the original?

the Kernel files for the 1.5 firmware (homebrew running one) Are not present, nor readable on this new model.
so no, you cant.

The PSP 3000 CAN run CFW but it is not permanent. This means that if you restart the PSP you are no longer on CFW. You can’t use a Pandora battery on the 3000, only the earlier models. You can however use the ChichHEN exploit. *WARNING – THIS CAN BRICK YOUR PSP* If you are still interested in doing this here is a link describing the process.

@second person, hacking the psp 3000 is 100% safe with no chance of brick
just youtube a guide on how to do it, u will have lots of results, and seeing people do it is easier to follow then reading a guide

Classic Game Room HD reviews the Sony PSP model PSP-3001, released in 2008. This PSP is the unit that CGR uses for all of the PSP reviews because it has an amazing audio and video output that allows gamers to play the PSP on televisions with component video for the best picture possible. The PSP itself has an amazing screen, sounds great through headphones (or stereo system) and is built with excellent controls and feels solid. The UMD format is the weak link for this (and other, older PSP models) unit because the UMD drive is an optical drive just waiting to have problems. Fortunately PSP owners can download most of their games from the Playstation Network these days, including a huge number of original PSone video games for PSP. Now that the PSP Go is released you may think that the PSP series 1000, 2000 and 3000 are obsolete but they are not! The older PSP models can still download the newest games and rock your journey with Playstation on the go goodness.
